English Language Challenges

Imagen
Hi everyone, today is my last blog and it is about my experience learning English. Learning English at my university has been very easy for me, I really like the use of digital platforms, like Zoom, because I can hear better, without the sounds of other things distracting me and with the possibility of controlling the volume that I need to understand, but I don´t like that I don´t have the book to read it myself, I don't like to depend on another person to adapt the pages to the screen.  At first, the blogs were strange for me, I had never used them before this semester, but it was very easy to catch on what I had to do and how to do it, I just have to remember to do them. That doesn't mean that I have some challenges while learning, while I have a very good understanding of how to write in English,  talking in English is very challenging for me, while talking I become very nervous and that happens even while I talk in Spanish. I think the best way to improve my talking ...

Changes to my study programme

Imagen
Hello everyone, this week's blog is about changes to my study programme. I had mentioned in some of my posts that I am studying Design and only in this semester I had been able to attend face-to-face classes in my university, and I have some little things that I would like to change. I would not change the classes in my curriculum because they have a reason to exist, but there are some classes out of Design that are obligatory, like the  sports, that I don't really understand why they are obligatory, but as well as the other classes I don't really want to change them, I just don't have to overwhelm myself with so many classes in the semester. But I would like to change the use of technology, I want to learn and use them more rather than doing physical projects and objects, because it stresses me out doing things out of materials, especially if I have to use paper, and I am more interested in what can I do with the programmes, especially those about 3D modelling. And so...

Time travel to the future

Imagen
Hi everyone, How's your day going? This week's post is about time travel to the future. It's kind of complicated to choose where I would go, and it makes me terrified think about the future, but maybe I'd to go like between 30 to 40 years in the future or even less, because I want to know how are my loved ones doing with their lives, I would want to see if my cousins are doing well and I also want to see what games and consoles would come out, maybe my favourite game would have by that moment, become a franchise, just so I can deal with the possible terrible things that could happen in the future, like knowing when some of my loved ones would go to the afterlife.  But I would not stay there for a long time, maybe I would stay there for less than a day, because I don't want to know about what will happen, I would be anxious most of the time and why would it matter? The future is always changing, it isn't written in stone like the past, the things that I would ha...

My Future Job

Imagen
Hello everyone, this week's topic is about my future job. I'd like to work as a digital comic artist, I imagine it would be a very stressful job if I'm working on multiple other people's projects or maybe it would be very enjoyable if I'm working on my own projects, maybe I could be more of a freelancer rather than work in a specific company.  And since the equipment necessary can be bought easily online nowadays, I could be working indoors from my home but I don't think I would be able to travel a lot for my work, and honestly I prefer it that way, I don't like going out from my home unless is absolutely necessary. I don't think it would have a great salary, because things related to arts and drawing tend to be undervalued, even more if it is digital art, people tend to think that it's not real or easy because the programs can help you, and that is not true, you need to practice to know how to use the programs. But for now I will stay studying in m...

The Tools that I use in my University

Imagen
Hello everyone, in this week I'm going to talk about the tools that I use to do my university assignments, digital and physical ones: Since I entered in my University to study Design, I have been recommended some tools that I will need during and after I end my career, some of them are very easy to use, some others take a while to understand and there are those tools that simply require too much resources to work efficiently. It depends on what my assignment requires to choose which tools I will use, but so far I had used digitally: Illustrator, Sketchbook, Premiere, After Effects, Word, PowerPoint, Audacity, Shotcut, OBS Studio, MuseScore 3,Acrobat Reader, Drive, Google and Blender. And physical ones, like: Rulers, compass, cutters, card stock, cardboard, glue, and many other tools. Some of them are more enjoyable than others but I deeply despise any manual work with paper, it is so fragile, except if it is a drawing assignment, then I am the happiest one. It is very interesting t...

My Hobby

Imagen
Hi everyone, in this week's post I would like to talk about my hobby: Drawing anime style. When I was kid in my first school, I was introduced to Japanese animation, but I do not remember if it was someone who showed it to me or I discover it out of curiosity. Either way I started practicing it almost everywhere but it lead me to be obsessed by pencils, of almost every type. I would really like to have more Copic markers but for now I will settle with cheaper ones, I have them in a special shelf behind my desk. Due to my hobby, many times I was chosen to participate in school activities that required drawing and painting skill, because I was the only one in my class, except for one year, when I first meet my best friend, which also draw anime style. Ultimately my interest has lead me to choose my career Design and to start creating my own comic.

My best holidays in Loncura

Imagen
Since I was little, I had always gone with my grandparents to Loncura, Valparaíso, where they have their own house, during January and February. During the early 2010's most of my family members would make in my grandparent's house what we called a "Horror story night"; where we sat at a campfire and tell horror stories and occasionally my granddad would had set some pranks to terrify me and my cousins. I remember maybe in 2012 or 2013, I was particularly interested in tarot and I had recently bought Egyptian themed cards, and my grandparents had recently adopted a German shepherd pup, Oso. I gave my mom the cards in the "Horror story night" and she left them where we sat, the next morning I asked her where the cards were and went to find them but Oso thought it was a good idea to use them as a chewing toy. Anyway, apart from that, we also made barbeques, empanadas, pastel de choclo, humitas and other delicious foods for everyone.
