The Tools that I use in my University

Hello everyone, in this week I'm going to talk about the tools that I use to do my university assignments, digital and physical ones:

Since I entered in my University to study Design, I have been recommended some tools that I will need during and after I end my career, some of them are very easy to use, some others take a while to understand and there are those tools that simply require too much resources to work efficiently.

It depends on what my assignment requires to choose which tools I will use, but so far I had used digitally: Illustrator, Sketchbook, Premiere, After Effects, Word, PowerPoint, Audacity, Shotcut, OBS Studio, MuseScore 3,Acrobat Reader, Drive, Google and Blender.

And physical ones, like: Rulers, compass, cutters, card stock, cardboard, glue, and many other tools.

Some of them are more enjoyable than others but I deeply despise any manual work with paper, it is so fragile, except if it is a drawing assignment, then I am the happiest one.

It is very interesting to see where will you go in order to complete the assignments, for example: I only downloaded MuseScore 3, even when it wasn't needed, just because my assignment required to make your own audio resources and I was not going to explore the internet for hours to get the right sounds that I needed.

And it is also interesting how I went from hating Illustrator, and by extension any programe that use vectors, to make presentations and the illustrations that I needed for my assignments, but I still prefer the pixel format that Photoshop and Paint tool SAI use.

And then there are those programs that not understanding them is the least of your problems,  I am talking about Premiere and After Effects.

These are fantastic programs to make videos and a little bit of animation and they were easy to understand but they need more resources than any other program that I have. Just installing them made my life difficult, my computer did not meet the minimum requirements to work, so I have to use my laptop, where another problem arise, they need too much RAM and my laptop does not have what is needed, it goes to the point where I can't see the preview in the program if I put too many archives, which I need to make the assignment, it goes so slow that I cannot know how it really looks my work, and the audio start to sound very creepy or I can't hear it because the programe does not have enough memory to work.

But I am happy to know so many tools that I can use and I really enjoyed it a lot, I hope that I can see many other programs in the next years.

What programmes do you use for assignments?

Which tool that you own was the most difficult one to obtain?

Which are the programmes that you like the most?

Which is the tool that you dislike the most?

Which program has been the most useful for you?

See you next week, Bye.

  1. Ugh, After Effects is so complicated, I had to use it once and it was terrible, my computer was slow and I could never understand it.

    Have a nice weekend
